Twitch and Kick drops in Rust: how to get them

Link your accounts, watch the right streams, claim your drops: the full routine for Twitch and Kick – and what to do when a drop does not arrive.

Updated · 3 min read

In short

  • Link Steam and Twitch once on twitch.facepunch.com – for Kick separately on kick.facepunch.com.
  • During a running round, watch Rust streams tagged “Drops Enabled”. General drops come from any participating stream, streamer drops only from that channel.
  • Progress only counts for one stream at a time. Several tabs do not help.
  • You must claim every finished drop yourself. It then shows up in your Steam inventory within about 10 minutes.
  • Drops are account-bound: you cannot trade or sell them. Missed drops do not come back in the store later.

Current drop round

No drop round is running right now.

As soon as Facepunch announces the next round, it appears on our drops page and in the site header.

Facepunch announces each round only shortly beforehand; there is no fixed calendar. There were ten Twitch rounds in 2025 and six so far in 2026 – roughly one every four to six weeks. A round usually lasts one to two weeks. Kick rounds are less frequent.

Once: link your accounts

  1. Open twitch.facepunch.com and click Connect Accounts.
  2. Sign in with Steam, then with Twitch, and confirm the permissions.
  3. Check that the page shows both accounts as linked. You do not need Twitch Prime.
  4. For Kick, do the same on kick.facepunch.com and click Activate Drops. If you signed up to Kick with Google, set a Kick username first.
twitch.facepunch.com: “Successfully paired” with linked Steam and Twitch accounts
“Successfully paired”: both accounts are linked. Check for Missing Drops recovers missing drops later, Unlink Account removes the link.

During the round: watch and claim

General dropsStreamer drops
WhereAny Rust stream with “Drops Enabled”Only the channel listed on the drop
How longStaggered, e.g. 1, 2, 3 … hours – the time carries over between channelsUsually 1–2 hours per drop
Several channelsOne after another yes, at the same time noYou can collect drops from several streamers
The times change from round to round. The exact values are on each round's drop page.
  1. Find a Rust stream tagged Drops Enabled and keep it running. The stream must be live.
  2. You can see your progress in the Twitch drops inventory (twitch.tv/drops/inventory) or in Kick's drops section.
  3. When a drop is finished, click Claim there. Only then is it sent.
  4. Within about 10 minutes the skin is in your Steam inventory. You do not need to start Rust for that – if the game is already running, reopen the inventory.
Twitch drops inventory: drop cards with progress bars, one finished card shows the “Claim now” button
Under “In progress” each card shows your progress, e.g. “61% of 1 hour”. At 100% the Claim now button appears. Example from another campaign – it looks the same for Rust.
Twitch drops inventory, “Claimed” section: Rust Isles drops with check marks
Claimed drops move to the “Claimed” section of the drops inventory and get a check mark – here from the Rust Isles round. Twitch lists the claims of the last six months there.

When something goes wrong

ProblemFix
Progress stopsIs the stream live, in the Rust category and tagged “Drops Enabled”? Watch only one stream, turn off ad blockers for Twitch, reload the page.
Claimed but not in the inventoryWait up to 10 minutes. Then check on twitch.facepunch.com (or kick.facepunch.com) that Steam is linked and click Check for Missing Drops.
Wrong Steam account linkedSign in with the wrong account and unlink it. If you lost access to the Twitch account, sign in with Steam and choose Unlink Account.
No progress on phone, TV or consoleThe browser on a PC is the most reliable. Apps on consoles and TVs do not always count.
Drop still missingDelivery is Facepunch's job, not Twitch's or Kick's – contact Facepunch support.

Can I sell drops?

No. According to Facepunch, Twitch drops are bound to your account and cannot be traded or sold. Our catalog agrees: none of the 596 Twitch drops and 13 Kick drops is tradable, and none has a marketplace offer. Anyone offering you a drop for sale is really selling a whole account – that breaks Steam's rules and often ends in a scam.

Common questions

Does it help to have several streams open at once?

No. Facepunch states explicitly that watching several channels at once does not give more drops.

Do I need Twitch Prime or a subscription?

No. Watching is enough. Only a few special drops in some rounds required a subscription – the drop says so if that is the case.

Does my Twitch time count for Kick?

No. Twitch and Kick have their own drops, their own links and their own progress.

Do old drops come back?

No. Missed drops are not sold later in the item store.
